It would be dishonest of me to say that I undertook this work to illustrate a specific aspect of (photographic) theory; that this work was the result of deliberation. Rather, the images were collected purely because I found them of interest in and of themselves - indeed, my intervention  only extends to their  presentation .  Therefore I believe it more prudent to use this section to explore and locate reasons for such interest.

1)  As the features of each face is absent from the images they deny their primary function.  Namely to confirm that a person is who they claim to be and thus by extension permit the individual certain actions.   Such a reading of course, locates the work more resolutely within the political: who decides and why, and by what power?

2) I have always been drawn to photography as an instantaneous medium of production, rather than as a labored, technical endeavor and the 'found' photograph can thus be viewed as an extension of this.
